Kharagpur Tribal B.Ed Training College offers two professional teacher education programmes — B.Ed and D.El.Ed — recognised by NCTE (Govt. of India) and affiliated to BSAEU and WBBPE respectively. Our academic framework is built on a balance of theoretical foundation, practical school experience and value-based education.
The curriculum follows the National Curriculum Framework for Teacher Education (NCFTE) and is updated in alignment with NCTE, BSAEU and WBBPE guidelines to ensure student-teachers are prepared for modern classrooms — including inclusive, tribal and rural education settings.
Both programmes recognised by the National Council for Teacher Education, Govt. of India.
Structured 4-semester, 2-year full-time programmes with school internship built in.
Mandatory school practice, micro-teaching and teaching-aid preparation every semester.
Curriculum rooted in ethics, community responsibility and inclusive education principles.
The Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) is a 2-year, 4-semester professional teacher education programme preparing graduates for teaching roles at secondary (Class IX–X) and higher secondary (Class XI–XII) levels. The programme is affiliated to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Education University (BSAEU), Govt. of West Bengal.
Emphasising both theory and practice, the programme covers educational psychology, pedagogy of school subjects, school internship, teaching-aid construction and community work — producing reflective, skilled and ethical teachers.
The Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) is a 2-year, 4-semester professional programme affiliated to the West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE) and recognised by NCTE. It prepares student-teachers for teaching at the primary and upper-primary levels (Classes I–VIII).
The programme focuses on child development, activity-based and constructivist learning, inclusive education, community engagement and practical school internship. Graduates become eligible for primary school teacher posts and TET (Teacher Eligibility Test) examinations in West Bengal.
